no because as the ferrari is stopped on its pit box the mclaren will be heading down the pit road getting closer to the exit. They both have to go the same distance on the pit road at the same speed so it is no disadvantage in that respect. It is a disadvantage though in that McLaren will have less garages next year and less room to bring all their stuff. They will also be assigned fewer corporate guest passes and lose some of their privileges that come from being one of the higher finishing teams...

Michael Schumacher used to say he found it a small advantage being the first garage in the pits. This was because of the angle he could enter the pit box was less extreme.
Mclaren should not find it a disadvantage as "mac-a-licious" has said.

Not all Grand Prix venues have the No 1 team garage at the beginning of the pitlane. For example, Melbourne is the reverse.
What's more interesting is if Alonso wins the driver's championship, he will take the number "1" (and 2) with him to his new team (asuming that he is leaving McLaren). Lewis, if he doesn't win the championhip, will sulk off to the end of the pitlane with the number "22" (and 23).

as a rely of actuality Stepney has accomplished virtually irrevocable harm to F1 and that i desire he in no way works in F1 back. From what I easily have study, McLaren are very particular approximately sticking to the guidelines, so this entire saga is rather inconsistent with their team philosophy. this occasion arose because of the fact 2 human beings desperate to break their employer rules. that is not any longer in user-friendly terms McLaren who will ought to tread intently, now each team will must be supercareful whilst doing something concerning yet another team. in actuality McLaren's superb arose because of the fact they have been no longer able to coach that their have been no "Ferrari areas" on their motor vehicle, merely like Ferrari may well be no longer able to coach their are no McLaren areas, Honda areas, BMW areas, crimson Bull areas, etc on their motor vehicle. particular, there is extra to come again, there must be. This began with 2 human beings stupidly breaking employer rules, sanity did no longer be triumphant (Ferrari might have merely sent a bill for the 780 pages of assistance to McLaren and charged them their everyday engineering chargeout fee), we've stupider courtroom circumstances the place inuendo is extra significant than data. So we went from stupid to stupider, so good judgment says we would have extra stupider quickly.

although mclaren pits last, they are the first to exit. so when ferrari finishes its pit stop, mclaren can sometimes pit quicker and get in front of the red car. its hard to do it, but they actually can.

McLaren are savvy enough to factor this into race strategy, and would've done so within minutes of the verdict being broadcast!
I think it will bring them back to basics, to coin John Major. Being back with the 'minnows' may make them see that F1 is a SPORT and they can chill out and enjoy it!

No. The position of the teams' garages don't matter (the drivers have to make sure they stop at the right team though!). The speed of the pit stop is vital.

Apparently, they will have less space therefore there is a loss. Also, they will be unable to keep a close eye on the front grid team in terms of strategy, as they will be a long way down the road, not to mention the moral hit, being thrown in the "punished" corner will have on the whole outfit.

If you think about it, that doesn't really matter, because the of the pit speed limit. No matter where the box is, all the cars have to travel the same distance at the same speed.

Mac is correct. Nobody really has an advantage over anyone else when it comes to the location of the pit garage.
