Global warming is very real. However, I think I better name for it is Climate Change. Basically, we are changing the composition of the atmosphere when we burn fuels. The gasses we add are really good a storing heat. This causes the over all temperature of the Earth to rise.
Only 5 degrees C is enough to cause the Earth's climate to change dramatically. Right now the Earth is able to regulate it's temperature through systems like ocean currents. Energy from hot places is sent to cooler places. The change in average temperature will disrupt the energy transfer. This will actually cause some places to get colder.
Basically the weather patterns we are used to will change. Some places will get warmer while others get colder.

Global warming is as real as scientists who are not biased can make out from a study of the average annual temperature data for the last century or so. So, it is real.

It may not always be hot but the earlier weather patterns will get disturbed (are getting disturbed). But most of the snow bound in the polar region and in the mountain glaciers is melting and the ocean level will rise, leading to large scale inundation of many coastal cities.

Abnormal weather will affect many people and the economy adversely.
