Voting was almost entirely along party lines. Funny thing since this was supposed to be a type of trial based on the facts and the law... Anyway, Republicans held the majority in the House, so yes, Clinton was impeached. The procedure in the Senate is a trial, and each party held 50 votes. Five Republican Senators of integrity, including Warner and Specter voted no on the charge of perjury, so Clinton was acquitted on that count, 55/45. There was a tie vote on the obstruction count, so Clinton remained in office.
I'm a Democrat.

Articles of impeachment was brought forth to the Senate from the House, he was acquitted, so technically he was impeached, but you need a conviction to remove him from office.

Bill Clinton was unsuccesfully impeached. Isn't it funny, though, that after having said "I can't recall" so many times, both the Clintons now have biographies coming out?
Conservative
Edit// Judging by all the things "Clinton Administration" did above, when did he have time to give away nuclear secrets to China, and why did he let Laden go? Seems to me that this is just padded resume', made after the fact (like his law career) to make him look good. The fact is Clinton will go down as one of the worst administrations ever... unless Hillary is elected.

Impeachment means bringing charges against someone. Nothing more and nothing less. There were two presidents who were impeached and neither was convicted of any crime. Bill Clinton was one of them. Imagine in a neocon controlled Congress bent on Clinton's destruction and they could not find him guilty of anything. That must mean he was NOT GUILTY.
Democrat and proud of it.
