Just a question for the experts. I'm aware you can project your anxieties into a false emobiment, like the rabbit in Donnie Darko, but can you really see things? Like your mind playing tricks on you?

That should be embodiment

True, that idea of projection has more to do with paranoia and schizophrenia.

I wasn't aware you can project your anxieties into a false embodiment. Depression, as far as I know, can't make you see anything. Though the visions that some have, like schizophrenics, aren't exactly like what you normally 'see' in the world though they feel and seem real to the person. If one is seeing visions of things that aren't really there, then this could be a sign of schizophrenia. If you are 'seeing things' then you need to seek professional help.

You could simply say this in general: Moods infuse judgments. But this is such a basic aspect of human behavior that I wouldn't exactly agree that being in a state of depression makes you see things, and certainly not in a predictable way. There is no trick of the mind here; it's the influence of your emotional state on your appraisal of reality, which everyone but the most wooden logical thinker must contend with.

You can hear things , you can see people doing things or animals doing things that you can missinterpreted but no one just see hallucinationations over depression alone , if drugs are involved then the story changes..

I'm still depressed when I take my meds, but it makes me realize that it is my brain making it up. When I don't take them, I believe it to be more real.
