SORRY, although the motherboard supports 1066mhz fsb, it does not support Core2 Duo. Also if you look at the BIOS updates, the most recent was in 2005. Core2 Duo only came out in 2006.
Consider this instead:

If you're going to go to a Core2 processor, get a 965 or 975-based motherboard, since the newer chips support even faster memory speeds, upgrading to quad core in the future, and are 64-bit instead of 32-bit, allowing you to use 64-bit versions of Windows and Linux (and even hacked Mac OS, if you choose) in the future.

Your mobo has this chipset : Intel 925XE/Intel

The E6600 supports these chipsets:
Intel® 975X Express Chipset,
Intel® P965 Express Chipset,
Intel® 946PL Express Chipset,
Intel® 946GZ Express Chipset,
Intel® Q965 Express chipset,
Intel® Q963 Express chipset,
Intel® G965 Express chipset

So NO your mobo DOES NOT support it.

Call Tiger Direct at 800-800-8300 they will tell you if its compatible. Also be careful of their rebates (they are hard to collect on) More processors at --Pricewatch.com
