They're running out of republicans to investigate. As long as they look like they're working, they can escape making any actual impact. Think back to that Seinfeld episode in which George figured out how to escape doing any work: he just looked busy and frustrated all the time.

Nah, that wouldn't be a circus, just a show. The circus was the waste of time on steroids in baseball. Still wasting it.

Well, did you hear this one? The poor, poor professional football players have taken their case to Congress and Congress is holding hearings on how the poor babies have been mistreated by their pension plan. Despite their multi-million dollar salaries, they're upset because their 'occupational injuries', duh, aren't being sufficiently addressed by the player's union benefits.

THAT is where your congress is spending it's time. THAT is why they've got an approval rating nearing the single digits.
