I need the name of a movie from either the 80's or early 90's that was a magic and swords/good and evil movie.

Question

I really can't remember much but I believe there was quite a bit of magic and a big battle at the end. In one scene I remember the main character (a guy) was lured into a tent by a beautiful woman who turned into a spider and almost killed him. It took place in maybe a long time ago and I think the last battle ensued in a castle. It's not the Sword and the Sorcerer and I am having a very difficult time remembering anymore details. Any help would be great, thanks.

It's not Excalibur, Krull, Hawk the Slayer, Dragonslayer, Beastmaster, Deathstalker, or Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. It could be Ator the Fighting Eagle (1982) with Miles o'Keefe because the villains of that movie were spider worshippers led by a giant spider (The Spider Dynasty). It almost sounds like the scene in Conan where the barbarian sorceress in the stone hut/cave tries to kill him, but she becomes a ghoul or banshee kind of monster - and it's also not Conan the Destroyer. I haven't seen Ator in almost twenty years, but it does fit the description. No, Morgana in Excalibur was wearing a black lacy dress - but her hair was red. She was using the Charm of Making to cast an illusion on herself to befuddle Arthur into believing she was Guinevere, no spiders were involved in that movie at all. I'm pretty sure it was Ator the Fighting Eagle.

Actually, it does sound like John Boorman's "Excaliber".

There is a scene where Helen Mirren is wearing a spider web like gown, when she seduces King Arthur, by pretending to be someone else. I believe it was red in color.

But, the last battle was out in the open.
