What would you do if they lied to you?

I would lose respect for her. My philosophy is, if you always tell the truth, you never have to change your story. I can put up with a lot, but being lied to is the limit. My ex wife lied so much and even slept with my friend , after she said there was nothing going on. Being lied to is an awful thing to forgive someone for, but I forgave her, because I was getting so bitter, it was eating me up. I forgave her and walked out of her life forever. My daughters tell me she is the unhappiest person they know. I wonder why ? Conscience ?

Depends on the size of the lie. If it was about the dress I just bought (I'm a guy, but I'm just role-playing), I wouldn't mind too much. He wouldn't be getting any for a night though.

If it was about sleeping with my sister, then I'd have a problem and chase him with a kitchen knife.

Boy that was fun, I must remember to change gender more often.

Depends on what they were lying about and how big the lie was. I would listen to what they had to say about the situation and try to do what my gut tells me. If it's a big issue or if I think they are lying again--they are gone! If it's something little, I would forgive but not forget and if they lie again then they would get the boot.

It would have been better if you merged your main question with your detail (i.e., "What would you do if someone you loved lied to you?"), but the answer depends on the lie. But, then, again, I might be lying! ;)

depends what they were lying about, a white lie or a really bad one. If it was something hurtful I would walk out. They could not have cared the same about me if they hurt me with a lie.

Would depend on the lie - but trust if pinacle - so pretty much one major lie - and I drop 'em these days...no second chances anymore...once a liar ALWAYS a liar.

Leave ......

Lying once is hard to forgive twice is unforgivable....

my ex used to tell "little white lies".. which then turned in to big fat hairy ones once she got found out....

It has happened. I yelled at the person. And warned him/her I will not tolerate certain things. I imagine you mean a big lie. Not nonsense.
