Don't sell the USA short. It is not being ruined by a long shot. Most people on earth would do anything to live there.

Presidents are not chosen for their sagacity, their ability to yield to pressure or even their intellect.

If any given president has any of these traits, it is considered bonus to the job at best. That is why they have cabinets, hopefully they are wise enough to surround themselves with good brains and pick the best advice from what they have to work with.

The current guy is not much different than most of the last 15 presidents. You have to go back to TAFT to have a real intellectual heavy weight.

President AND Supreme Court Chief Justice!

Talk about the double threat!

Reading though the answers one thing kept popping up in my mind over and over again, its all a matter of personal opinion. I read no facts, no proof, no evidence, no nothing that Bush is in fact destroying our country. And a lot of 'evidence' that some throw out again is a matter of view.

But how about this, In April I lost my job, according to the rule I need to blame Bush, so I do.
My handheld which I've had for three years finally croaked, I blame Bush again.
Last month I got a new job, in fact a great job, so according to the rule I blame Bush, so I do.
Getting a new small laptop to replace the handheld, (can't wait until it arrives Friday) again I blame Bush.

All that sounds quite idiotic doesn't it, yet sane, normal people do this everyday and think its perfectly rational.

Simple fact is the polarization of this country (liberals and Conservatives) is what's destroying this country. Neither side listens and both think they are right. Truth is neither could be right but no one wants to accept that. Either your for or against them, taking a middle stand and people think your for the other side.

None of the above. It's destructive because of the new methods he has used to get around his responsibities to the people of America and the Constitution. Here's a few things to look at. Remember as you read the articles and watch the videos that Bush has drawn a blueprint that ANY president can follow. By overstepping his authority, he has set an AWFUL precedent.

The first article is about how Bush plays around with the laws enacted by Congress. He picks and chooses which ones to enforce. The second article is the most complete account of the events leading up to the invasion of Iraq that I've ever read. The two videos are not as relevant to Bush as they are to the entire political system. It's not JUST Bush who is destroying America. One man couldn't destroy a healthy democracy. However, our democracy is anything but healthy. It hasn't been healthy for decades. Our forefathers never imagined that America would back itself into a corner such as the one we are in now. Two political parties were never meant to 'corner the market'. America was SUPPOSED to have virtually unlimited political parties.

individuals overwhelmingly needed the Wars with Iraq and Afghanistan, we ought to continually get out as quickly as available. you're perfect that there have been undesirable judgements made, however the international isn't an user-friendly place with user-friendly solutions. The events do what they think of is stable, from their attitude, and we as electorate decide for the path that we predict of is maximum suitable. the human beings who do no longer vote in this u . s . a . are people who destroy it, the very act of no longer balloting makes one celebration win over the different. A non-vote is comparable to a vote for whoever wins. companies supply money to whichever factor will paintings for them, the human beings supply to who will paintings for them, that is a similar distinction.

Nothing he's doing or has done has damaged anything beyond repair. Even if you disagree with him, as I do on many issues, it's all very fixable.

Now, the middle east, he didn't destroy that and hasn't really hurt it that much. It's always been a dung heap. It's no more or no less now and unless you've forgotten, those sandal wearing bunch of Neanderthals started it all anyway, so again, nothing he's done.

Still, I might warn you. It's dangerous to call someone else an intellectual lightweight. You're buying into the rah-rah, I'm a screaming liberal, bumper sticker mentality. I have a feeling that the guy's far better educated and successful than you so my warning would ask you, if he's an intellectual lightweight, what does that make you? And please, his daddy didn't get his grades, his daddy didn't get him elected governor and then president twice, his daddy didn't have him standing toe to toe with those two self proclaimed intellectual Titans Gore and Kerry. So please don't go there. You'll only be digging yourself into a hole.

The division that he has instigated amongst Americans because there are still good people out there that have faith in the office of the Presidency and can't fathom that the office would be run by a conniving, buffoon.

The fact that too many people believe we can "do it alone," that is, change the world the way we want even when the rest of the world doesn't want us to do it unilaterally (the eve of the Iraq war, for instance). The people that advise Bush have led to him to believe that we are invincible and omnipotent, and his lack of understanding about the world and other cultures has made him persuadable in this regard.

And, what would this refer to? Bush has done more for the country than the last 10 Democratic Presidents.
Try reading "Losing bin Laden: How Bill Clinton's Failures Unleashed Global Terror" and "Shadow War: The Untold Story of How Bush Is Winning the War on Terror" by Richard Miniter, a fellow at the Hudson Institute.
