Do you love someone far away
Even though you might never see the day
When flesh collides in warm embrace
And eyes meet outside of photographs
Do you fear the words in writing
Even though all along you’ve been fighting
To keep them wrapped under like and want
And other synonyms of love
Do you fathom the thought of disregard
For consequence, what ifs, and the whole nine yards
To go in blindly with eyes wide open
Just hoping the chemistry’s there
Do you love someone far away
Enough to tell another you cannot stay
For your true love waits on the southern line
With a great big heart wide open
Do you ever think if you followed your heart
Instead of your head from the very start
You’d be writing of love instead of longing
For someone far away
