I ma 12 1/2 weeks along and I have already had 4 ultrasounds. I was reading other posts and it looks like prople are much farther along than I am and have only had one. I had one at 5 weeks to confirm the pregnancy. One at 8 weeks during my routine check up. Another at my 12 week check up. And I just had another one today because i went for the nuchal fold test. I am going again on Monday because the baby was not cooperating so I'll have another one.
I feel so happy when I see my baby in there jumping and playing and I can see her/him grow every month.
I am gathering that my doctor does ultrasounds more often than most? He told me that he doesnt mind doing them more often because it brings a sense of comfrot to the mothers.
How many have you had?

I had 32... I was very high risk.

Wow you are so fortunate - i'm so envious. I am in the UK and we have 2 scans - one at 12 weeks and 1 at 20 weeks. The only exceptions is if you are carrying twins or you have developed an illness. I am currently 18 weeks and have had 2 because my baby was too small to do the nuchal fold test so I returned a week later and saw so much growth. It makes you realise just what little miracle is growing inside you every time. I wish I had the money to go privately and see it every other week! Roll on 10 October when I get to see it again. I am 17 weeks pregnant. I went when i was 5 weeks pregnant because i had a cyst again at 10, 14, and next week i go for my 18 week. My doctor does the ultrasounds once every 4 weeks.. then later one he does them every 2 weeks and the last month its every week. I would love to see mine more often to keep at ease but its not necessary. He probably does it so often for the money or something. I have heard alot of places dont do them even as often as I go.

None, I have my first at 20wks. I have had a normal healthy pregnancy so far and heard the heart beat by doppler at 10wks and will again next week at 14wks.
I have mixed feeling about doctors doing so many. I think it's great as long as they don't get you all freaked out over nothing. I see a lot of women here and elsewhere that start getting freaked out because they couldn't see a heart beat at 5-6wks and there doctor sends them in for all kinds of extra tests when they weren't really needed. I can also see some value to doing it early if you are high risk.

I've only had two and I'm 32 weeks along. Unfortunately, most other doctors won't do "just for the sake of the mothers" because it is costly, they are busy, and most insurances won't cover anything but the bare minimum for medical reasons.
I had one at 12 weeks to confirm my pregnancy and another at 20 so they could measure him and make sure he was growing properly, etc. Yes, they move around liek crazy huh!!!
So I would say you're VERY lucky. I have to pay out of pocket to get another ultrasound, but I'm doing the 3D ones... I hope they're so worth it!!!

Can I have YOUR doctor?!?!? All the docs around here are more concerned with getting paid by the insurance companies. I have had three, but that was because we needed to find out how far along I was to begin with, then one at 10 weeks, then one at 17. I wish I could have more!!! Actually, I might get more to make sure that everything is going smoothly because I am high risk, but we'll see! Congrats on the pregnancy!

I would say you are lucky! I would have loved to see the little bean more. I had one at the beginning around 7 weeks and then again at 16 to find out the sex with my first. Also I went overdue with my first so they did the non-stress test at 40 weeks along with an ultrasound. With my second I only had one at 16 weeks.

I was just trying to count and have lost track, lol! I have gestational diabetes and have been having them once a month and just started 2 weeks ago having them once weekly. I think if I was having a typical pregnancy and only had the one ultrasound I'd go crazy. I like seeing that little guy on a regular basis!

I would say that you are lucky. Most people I know had 1 or 2. I have had about 6. They found a fibroid at 18 weeks and now keep an eye on it by utlrasound.

I have had 7.....7 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 32 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 weeks (Im having a big baby, so they are keeping track) and they said i would have another at 38 and maybe 40 if i go that long.....Good luck!!!

I am 33 1/2 weeks and i've only had one. I guess it depends on the doctor. My doctor is located in a large hospital and has a lot of patients, so I guess that has something to do with it.
