CLIPS? I had my tubes done with 2cm off each end of the and cauterized. They sometimes TIE them, but CLIPS? Is this a TEMPORARY vasectomy?
I just did a google.com search on VASECTOMY CLIPS. That's a pregnancy waiting to happen. Why weren't the tubes cut/burned shut? Even with the TIED procedure, sometimes they come UNtied and grow back together.
My doc made ONE small incision, pulled each tube out, cut and cauterized it and put it all back in. I had some DISCOMFORT for a few days but never have had any pain and have had GREAT sex since.
Your husband needs to see the Urologist who did the procedure and talk to him! TOOT SWEET!
There are several sites about the CLIP VASECTOMY. Do a google.com search on CLIP VASECTOMY, you might find some answers there, but I WOULD talk with the doc.
Good luck.
(had a vasectomy in 77....best $200 I've ever spent)

Clips are a bad way to get a vasectomy. If a man gets a normal vasectomy he will recover in a week, with no pain. If he gets the "clips" it will take much longer to heal. It is much more painful.

Reduced sex drive an pain are NOT normal.
His reduced sex drive is being caused by the pain.
The pain is caused by some kind of complication (possibly an infection). He needs to go back to see the doctor.
Edit: I did some reading. If your hubby got the "clip" type of vasectomy, he had better re-think it and get it redone "old school" (like I got back in 1989). All these new types like "clip" and "open ended" are asking for complications.

Those pains are real!
My husband had a vasectomy after the birth of our 4th child. He had this same sort of pain and an ache in his balls. He felt a bunch of pressure in them all the time. He finally had a vasectomy reversal and the pain went away.
It's not just in your husbands brain, it's real. It's just too bad that the doctors don't warn men that this could happen.

Your husband has a psychological problem at least with his sex drive - there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for his sex drive to be diminished (mine went up...!). I also think most of his "pain" is in his mind too. He needs to talk with a urologist to set his mind to rest, and perhaps find out if there is a real problem from the surgery.

He should not be having pain now. He needs to go back to his doctor. His sex drive should not have been affected by the operation physically. I suspect it is psychological now that he has been rendered sterile.

he should TOTALLY have that looked at. my husb had it and was back to normal within 3 days, i would go have a SECOND OPINION by a DIFFERENT DOCTOR bc. of course the dr who did it to your husband is of COURSE going to say he's fine. good luck. that just sounds awful! p.s. my husband never had those pains or twinges like you described.

The pain is causing the loss of sex drive.
Let him heal and he will be back on track.

I really believe he should not still be in pain. Perhaps he should revisit his doc and get looked at. My husband had one and never had any problems that long afterwards.
