My heart is filled with pride and respect. I wished I had joinedthe millitary as a young man, but I was too much of a long hair lib at the time. Now that I have matured I see what I missed out on.

Well, if I see someone in a Navy uniform I think of my Dad because he is retired Navy.
If I see someone in an Army uniform I think of my brother, a best friend since high school, and 3 cousins and my best friends brother that just passed away- because they are all in the Army.
If I see a Marine uniform I think of my Uncle.
If I see a National Guard Uniform I think of my Grandfather that passed away.
SO.....I think of them all as over worked and under-payed service men and women who does a lot for a country where they are for the most part, unappreciated.

I know them to be good and honorable people making sacrifices most people can't possibly understand.
And for the ignorant comments about baby-killers, murderers, etc....try walking a mile in their army boots before you pass judgment.

Just people trying to learn how to be responsible adults. Many of military friends knows they are responsible for dead babies. But at the same time the training and discipline will make them into good role models for the younger generation. I sometimes drive an SUV, I too am responsibility for the murder of innocents.

I worry about them, but I don't have negative or positive feelings about their status. I am a vet (though not a wartime one), so again, I don't see them as being that different.

I think, "Good Lord, what have you gotten yourself into?" If I am seeing them, they are fortunate to not be in Iraq right now.
