The fastest double century in respect of numbner of balls faced was scored by N.J. Astle of New Zeland, who scored double century against England in Christchurch in 2001-2002.

However, the fastest double century in respect of duration, the record is held by D.G. Bradman of Australia, who scored double century in 214 minutes against England at Leeds in 1930.
