Is there any music that can not be played at a funeral for copyright (orsimilar) reasons?

If it's a Crematorium then they should have a PRS licence, which covers it. Most churches though don't have a licence.But I doubt that any publisher/artist would chase you for a fee, unless it's a state funeral!!

I can't imagine that an artist or record company would go after anyone playing their music at a funeral. If you are using music for a private event, I don't even think that copyright issues are involved anyway. Kind of like taping a TV program for private use as opposed to taping something that you intend to sell.

I guess any music could be played at a private funeral.

Much the same as playing music at a party.

You are not selling the music. Unless you have a really weird ASCAP rep in your area, I don't see a problem.

I havent heard that as a general license is purchased but I do not know
