Read the story and decide. Barry Manilow refused to appear on the View because they would not exclude the co-host, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who is anti-abortion and supports the war in Iraq.

truthseeker...a celebrity wants to visit your work site, but won't come unless you are excluded...if you are the employee he objects to, and this is your job, will you view it the same way?

It makes Manilow seem like a tool to me. His visit had absolutely nothing to do with politics as most people don't really care about his view on political topics (or Elizabeth's for that matter). Why can there be ultra liberal hosts like Rosie, ultra liberal actors like Sean Penn, but when a TV personality merely defends a point of view half of the Americans who watch the show support, she is somehow wrong? It's absolutely mind boggling, thats tantamount to Manilow saying only his opinion is relevant and should matter. Hasselbeck to my knowledge, has never stepped up on a soap box and gone off on democrats, she just stood up to someone that has done that frequently. What an absolute joke!

Just the latest in the long line of Democrats who feel like they should only have to be interviewed by those who agree with them. Thus assuring that they only get softball questions. Barry is an entertainer, not a politician and this idea that he won't be interviewed by Hasselbeck simply because she is a conservative is one of the most ridiculous and childish things I have seen in a while. It just goes to show how truly idiotic many liberals have become.

Manilow has the right not to appear on the View but he looks petty by not doing so. Elisabeth is just a mindless wingnut with a big rack. It's not like going on the O'Reilly Factor and being yelled at by a lunatic.

That article is so funny. I can't believe that Manilow couldn't go on the show and talk about HIS ALBUM because he didn't agree with one of the hosts political views. What an idiot.

Seems pretty standard for the far left. They've wanted to lose so badly that they won't even talk to anyone who wants to win. I am curious as to how talking about his album with someone who happens to be pro-victory would go against his beliefs. And I do note that he used the term "beliefs" and not "facts".

I would love for some moderate democrats to make the news every once in a while.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a rarity among the Hollywood crowd. They will make every attempt to discredit her because she doe not support a typical, radical, left-wing elitist Hollywood agenda. Don't back down Liz, stand firm against this trash.

I love it when this stuff come out and all of a sudden they scream about freedom of speech and defend the actions of this cowardice act. But turn things around, and you know they'd be screeching at the top of their lungs, using an analogy that is exactly the opposite.

Some of these people simply smack of hypocrisy!

Barry is an intolerant clown. There are people like him in all walks of life. Differences of opinion are what make life interesting.

Does he expect everybody to be a robot programmed to 'know-it-all sissy boy'?
