we are mammals because we are warm blooded, because if we were reptiles we would lay eggs. But all mammals are warm blooded like we are.

Mammal refers to mammary glands (also know as breasts, teats, etc.), meaning milk is provided to the young via their nursing. Therefore, humans are mammals.
