Resisting Arrest, Plain and Simple. Americans are so ridiculously spoiled and arrogant. Try stuff like this anywhere else in the 80% of the world and you will receive a beating like you have never seen in your life. He was behaving like he was on drugs, he was not responsive to simple instructions. Ask any soldier who has been overseas and you will get the same answer. Don't fight with the guards, police, or anyone who is enforcing the laws of the country. Bad, Bad, things will happen to you....

They have a right to ask for ID and remove the student for not having one. it is school policy, and it makes sense, it's not the issue. They even had a right to touch his arm and escort him out if he was being loud and uncooperative, he's an idiot, he deserves it, it's also not the issue. But that's where it ends. Regardless of whether or not he was cooperative. Tasing a handcuffed person is straight-up torture. tasers are meant to immobilize dangerous individuals, not “move people along”, regardless of how much warning you give them, or how loud they are being, he's not a threat in handcuffs. Police are trained to use the minimum amount of force necessary to subdue a suspect. This skinny 23 year old kid is in handcuffs, there are 4-6 big police officers... they could carry his dumb-*** out... or drag him... or (as I have seen dozens of officers do in similar situations... ) be the bigger man, sit back, and handle it calmly and professionally... let the kid be the ***... I’m sorry those officers had an uncooperative suspect, but they should have handled it far more professionally, hell, big fat high-school football club/bar bouncers remove uncooperative individuals more humanely and successfully all the time. Near the end of the video, The officer threatens to tase another student, who is asking him for his ID number, that’s called assault, and it is a crime. sidenote: tasers have killed something like 118 people last year. Those cops are completely out of control, they are lucky a riot didn't break out. Fire and fine them all, and send the “i’ll taze you too” officer to jail. Thank god, this is only the 10% of bad police officers... and most are far, far better cops....

Awesome statement. He just should have done as they instructed him to. They were very simple commands. I think way too many people over play police brutality. My husbands a police officer, and I can't see him picking on anyone for no reason. He's too lazy. This is not common knowledge but the owner of TASER gets shot with every new taser model they make.
I find it reassuring that I don't have to worry too much about my husband getting hurt at work. If someone is bleeding and has AIDS they could charge at my husband and he could have an exposure. With a taser it makes it safer to take down people who are resisting.
Cops do have family's, and I want my husband to be as safe as possible. Do what a police officer says and you'll never have to endure a taser. It's that simple.
My husband has been shot with a taser himself, full force. He knows the pain all to well, and for that reason he has not used it yet. He will do whatever else he has to before resorting to that.

The dude was being a jerk and refused to heed simple requests. I'm certainly not feeling sorry for him. Socrates sez that the laws of the state should be obeyed, if one wants to remain a citizen of a nation or country. Only unjust laws should be disobeyed. For an unjust law is no law at all.

Becuase tasers are meant to subdue violent people, not torture people exercising their freedom of speech. To those saying just obey - we don't live in a police state, luckilly, Police don't have unlimited authority - they certainly can't order someone to not talk. If you want it like that, move to China or Iran or somewhere. Those cops should be fired and sued for millions. The department should also be sued.

The only problem I see and where they are going to have problem is that they did not taser him until after he was handcuffed. If he is already restrained the why taser him? However, he was an obnoxious jerk and deserved what he got, it was just when he got it that is going to be the problem for the police.

Nobody deserves to be subjected by excessive force by police officers, regardless of race, color, sex, or economic status. Stop trying to bring the race card into play. Your argument is biased, jaded and also pathetic. Can't we all just get along?

So all of a sudden only white kids are stupid and rich ?
Have you seen 'My super sweet 16' ? I've seen black, persian, asian, filipino, white and mexican families on that show.
Tasers are for violent people - not for people taking advantage of their constitutional rights.
