The way things are now is probably the best I'll ever get along with them. I was a mama's boy for mostly 20 years of my life. I did everything they asked me to. Between 20 and 24 years old is when the tensions began. I left their church where I was raised and dated a woman they didn't like. I also felt the constant pressure to succeed. Things got better because we moved apart. They now live in another region of the country and I rarely see them. This way, they're not always on my case. I like it this way. But I'm about to make some major life decisions, and they want in on all of them. (Please reference an earlier question I wrote). This will surely bring the arguing back.

Asbolutely.

They are my best friends, though my father passed away and I miss him terribly. I can talk with my mother about anything, yes anything. She's the coolest 84 year old woman in the world.

And she's a big fan of Eric Clapton and Trans Siberian Orchestra.

How's that for cool?

Yes until my mom starts saying that dinosaurs were created by scientists and the Grand Canyon wasn't made by a river.

When i was younger i didn't get along with my mom at all b/c she had to discipline and do everything herself b/c my dad left for work before we woke up and got home after we went to bed (nothing to do with us). Now as i'm more mature i understand them better and really do love them for everything they have done for our family. we talk about everything!
