It should be spelt DIETER. It's a German boy's name. The way you have written it, it would be pronounced die (as in dead) - ter.

If it is a made up name, well it's fine I suppose but if it were spelled 'Dieter' the origins are German, in which language it would be pronounced as you do. 'ei' however, would be pronounced 'Dye-ter' Personally, I think Dieter/ Deiter is a very pleasing name pronounced as you suggest. Kind regards.

sounds like a german name to me,but also could be interpreted as dieper,american for a nappy. thats how it comes across to me,sorry but it does.
