I went to the doctor about a week ago and my baby wouldn't open his/her legs, even when she/he moved it would move with his/her legs shut ALL THE TIME! s/he is driving me crazy!! i wanna know what it isssss!
I'm 16.3 weeks today (09-18-07), my doctor told me we would probably be able to know when I go back Oct 11th, which I will be 19.5 weeks!! and the baby is bigger and would probably cooperate BETTER LOL...
When did you find out? How far along were you? Is there a possibility I might never find out until the baby's out?
My doctor told me she does more ultrasounds than usual because she has the machine in the patient's room...I've gotten 3 ultrasounds so far and I'm only 16 weeks...

The first ultrasound was to date the pregnancy. We thought I'd be about 3 weeks because of my last period (it was just spotting by the way). When we saw my baby on the ultrasound I found out I was almost two months! (7.5 weeks!!!) and it was amazing listening to the heartbeat!!! :)
My second ultrasound was at 12.5 weeks and it was amazing seeing how my baby already had legs and hands!! a perfect little human shape!
My third ultrasound was just to make sure my baby was okay because I was having a lot of belly pain, I was getting really warm all of the sudden and sweat a lot...I was also dizzy most days and would feel weak that I couldn't even go to the bathroom by myself. They also did some blood tests on me. Everything is okay and my baby's growing just fine! I can feel him/her moving sometimes :) and I feel it's a girl...but most of my family members & friends say it's a boy! LOL

Wow - it sounds like you are having a lot of ultrasounds. Lucky you, I hope that your getting pictures to take home? It actually might be just barely too early to tell the sex. Your next appointment should be more revealing. I recently delivered twins and when we went in for the appointment that should reveal the sex - our daughter was posed proud as could be while our son literally held his legs closed. Our ultrasound tech said that boys tend to be more private than girls. The next ultrasound we had (a month later) confirmed that he was indeed a boy - after the tech "shook" his legs loose (he was hiding his bits and pieces still). Some folks never find out the sex, because the tech just can't be certain or the organs are always hidden. With my first child, my doctor would only tell me that he did not see any "jewels", but that doesn't mean that it is a girl - cause he just couldn't be certain and he didn't want to say that it was one and then turn out to be the other. What I would recommend to you is that you go to www.babycenter.com the site is chock full of information and has a great timeline that you can follow to see how your infant is progressing. Congratulations on your new baby!

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday... I'm 19 weeks 4 days... We also tried finding out what the sex of the baby is... But it was kicking too much... The doctor said it looks like a boy but wasn't gonna be too sure until my next ultrasound... Which is October 15th... I can't wait either to find out what it is... It's my first baby so all this is new to me... Although let me tell you that when my mom was pregnant of both my sister and I we both had our legs crossed... Didn't let the doctor see till towards the end of the pregnancy... Good thing your doctor is willing to do ultrasounds that often... Mine does too... So you'll probably have more chances of finding out before you give birth... Next time try drinking orange juice before your ultrasound... it makes the baby move more... Good Luck... and I guess we'll just have to be patient and see... :o)

I found out what I was having when I was 18 weeks and 5 days. It was pretty clear that it was a boy...lol. My doctor however did not give many ultrasounds so my husband and I went and had a 3D/4D Ultrasound done at about 25 weeks. This was VERY clear. They are expensive but the experience you have seeing your baby in 4D is amazing! If you're still unsure after your next visit, I would suggest you go get a 3D/4D Ultrasound. Either way you'll love it.

Most people don't find out until after the 20 week mark, so consider yourself lucky that your doctor even looked! My daughter rolled over and spread 'em wide right away, so it wasn't an issue. You will find out eventually, especially since you're lucky enough to have a doctor with an ultrasound machine right there. Eat something spicy before you go in next time- maybe that will get the maybe up and moving!

Im 19 weeks, and i am suppose to find out in a few weeks...at like 22-23 weeks. I do hope that the baby cooperates. If you are 17.5 weeks along the doctors should have no trouble whatsoever finding out what the baby is...

I know technically you may be able to see his/her sex organs at 15 weeks, but it's not totally reliable. You'll get a better answer/look at your 19 weeks. But to answer your question, yes it's possible you might not know until it comes out. My Ultrasound tech just kept trying. I was almost 20 weeks when I found out and assumed it was boy from the heartbeat rate. I was right, and when she said "scrotum" like 6 times, I figured it was pretty safe to say "It's a BOY!". I have 2 girls already. I know it drives you crazy to find out, it did me, but once you find out, you're on the downhill side of your pregnancy and it goes SOO fast... ENJOY IT!!

generally it's 18-20 weeks, but I am currently pregnant with my fourth and last child so I am going to find out on Oct 4th, which is 18 weeks for me. I can't wait...I have three daughters....THIS HAS TO BE MY BOY!!!
Good luck to you and don't fret, at least your doctor has the ultrasound machine in the office for you to find out when you can. oh, and yes, sometimes the babies just don't cooperate. push them around a lil, lol...

Absolutley...there is a REAL chance that you will only find out the sex of your baby when he/she is born!! This is called nature and to be honest it's a bit like the weather. People can try to predict it but there is always room for surprises!!
There are plenty of symptoms of pregnancy that can make you feel "warm & sweaty" as you were saying...you should buy a book on pregnancy and get to know what's happpening to your body. Try seekbooks at the website below...

With my first baby, I waited until he was born to find out, but I totally had a feeling I was pregnant with a boy, and sure enough, my feeling was right. But with my 2nd, I had SEVERAL ultrasounds and the doc told me I was having another boy- and sure enough we were all surprised in the delivery room when I delivered a perfect, healthy baby girl! So when i was pregnant with my 3rd, I had ultrasounds, and they told I was pregnant with a boy, but we decided to just wait and see ; ) Now I am expecting my 4th and I think I'm just gonna wait until I deliver to find out. I'm sure at yer next sonogram your baby will finally let you have a peek. Let us know!!! Good luck and best wishes-
