Time. Seriously, it does heal all.

I also try to do things that make me happy that can also distract me from the source of my sadness. I read, go on YA, play games, cuddle with my boyfriend, watch TV, go to the movies, go shopping (if I have the money), exercise, and going to the Olive Garden.

Being outside in nice sunny weather is especially uplifting too.

By looking ahead and not dwelling on the past. Keep busy and shy away from things such as songs that trigger your sadness. Circle some things on the calender to look forward to.

If you are more than just sad then I suggest you go seek a mental health professional.

First, time will cure this. Also, a replacement can also replace this. If you lost a boy friend, you will get another and will most likely not think about the one you lost.

Second, don't let your mind dwell on whatever makes you sad. When you start to think of it, force yourself to think about something else.

Many things have always helped me handle feeling of fear or being sad/depressed. They are:

1.) Prayer
2.) Being active in church/community
3.) Staying active/excercising
4.) Having the company of good friends

How you feel actually is how you want to feel..... If you want to be happy, you will be.

Example , if a person tried to make you sad.....and you didn't want to be...chances are you might become mad instead, because you chose to be.

If you think happy stuff, hang with happy people, watch happy TV shows, you can become happy.

Example... kids ..kids are always happy until adults step in . So be a kid, go to a play ground some night and play, slide, swing, roll down a grasses hill.

Just thinking of it makes you want to smile...if you didnt smile its because YOU are trying not to........

My right knee was dislocated just over a year ago. When I'm bummed out, I go for a run until my knee hurts so bad I forget about anything else.

Stupid yes, but it works.

Time and lots of it, I had my heart broke and it took years to heal. The pain is the worst kind. Leaves you sad, lonely and depressed. I went to school and decided to better myself and make him sorry for what he did. Don't know if he was sorrry but sure made my life better.

Cry. Crying "gets the sad out of you". If that takes too long I get busy doing some mundane cleaning project.

I call up my best friend and have a cry/***** fest then we go do something fun like go to the park and throw a ball around.
Sometimes all you need is someone to empathize with you and surprisingly it helps, especially if you have someone positive and encouraging.

I make myself really busy and occupy all of my time with stuff so that I don't sit at home and mope. Even if you are still sad its better to be out and active then home hiding under a blanket.
