Sure! Call her Polenta Candelabra...everyone will love her!

Not sure why you would want to either. You have to consider that naming the child a funky name can cause him or her issues when they get into school.

Did you know that Polenta is a dish made from boiled cornmeal. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Maybe you meant Pollentia, which is an ancient town in Italy, which is still different, but for a girl she could be Polly. I guess for a boy his nickname could be Pol or Paul.

Yeah go for it

POLENTA:The Italian version of cornmeal mush. Coarsely ground yellow cornmeal is cooked with stock or water and flavored with onions, garlic, and cheese. Polenta may be eaten fresh out of the pot, as a perfect accompaniment to stews. Polenta may also be poured into a greased pan and allowed to set. It is then sliced, sautéed, and topped with cheese or tomato sauce.

You can do anything you like, but IMO Polenta is a horrible name for a baby.

Polenta like the food??

I guess you can call your baby that.. (if you don't like your baby)

Sorry that was harsh.. but it's not a very nice name.. that poor child will be tortured by his or her peers.

Depends, is she edible? ;) Polenta always sounds like "placenta" to me. You can call a baby whatever you want, heck, look at Moxie Crimefighter!

Knowing that it's currently a very popular food why would you? It's not even pretty for a name. Sounds like a medication or a food.

you can call it whatever you want, but most likely that baby will grow up hating that she was named after a cake of boiled cornmeal...

Of course you can, but it isn't very flattering. Although, sometimes names do grow on you. She might have the nickname Polly, which is cute. ***
