Yes.
Last year, Moen, Niedermayer, and Pahlsson where a combined -14. Which means that were a failure at shutting down the opposition.
Detroit's Draper, Maltby, and Cleary were a plus 9
Ottawa's Schaefer, Neil, and Fisher were a plus 28
Buffalo had amazing plus minuses on their checking line.
So, Anaheim's checking line had a great playoff, but there are better units in the NHL

I'd have to agree with the first poster. NHL media get this all wrong once a team wins the Cup like this line was a "great" shut down line. Well, your goalie can make any line look like a great shut down line. Hello, Giggy.
I think the best "shutdown" line is Draper-Maltby and whomever.
