The height of the tropopause(which is the roof of the troposphere) over a place varies with latitude of the place and also time of the year.It is heighest over the equator in summer and lowest over the poles in winter.Its average height in summer is 16 Kms over the Equator, 11 Kms in 50 degree latitude,and 9 Kms over poles.This varies in differnt seasons as well as in different years.
