Ok, basically I have a subscription to a webhosting service for my website that takes payment for it by direct debit every year.
However, I have realised that last year the company didn't delete my website or account even though my credit card details had changed & they actually didn't take any money out of my account. It's up again in a months time & it seems like they are non the wiser. Should I keep quiet about this & have free-webhosting?? (it's £160 for a year) or will they eventually figure this out & expect the past however many years payments & shut my website down?
I never get anything for free lol & although *morally* having noticed this I should let them know & pay for last years & this years, but it *is* their error.
What should I do??

They will figure it out, you are trying to pbtain services without paying, that is criminal activity.

Call them, ask them to cancel it

Tell them and keep telling them. It is a fact of common law if not statute law that the debtor has the duty to find his/her creditor. Not the other way round.

This is why you sometimes get a plea that they never read my meter so it is unfair that I should pay after all this time argument. In a court it will always fail

If you are talking about 123-reg it will take them years to unravel the mess they are in and as you say it is their error. You are entitled to keep unsolicited gifts. The only problem is that eventually they may see the light and slap you with a massive bill - but I doubt it.

Morally speaking, you should tell them. That said, if they cannot run their business properly, that's their problem.

A sensible compromise would be for you to put the money in a reserve a/c and if they ask for it you can pay them.

Meeee, you already answered your own question. There is no dilemma, you know what is right and what you have to do. Do it.
