I was trying to log in on the RachealRay TV Show and a porn site came up. I don't have much experience on these things, now I'm told that my PC is infected, have been trying to clean it up with no success. I'm being told over and over the same things. I've used my PC cleaner and its still there. keeps popping up every couple minutes. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Hopefully you did not click on the pop up message... but it sounds like you may have.

Usually, what happens is you will mistype the site name and will be redirected to one of these similar yet fake sites... then the pop up will come up and the idea is to trick you into clicking on it... you think you are cleaning your computer but what you are doing is installing a program that is infecting your computer.

Hopefully you are running an antivirus / firewall combo from a reliable vendor like McAfee and have it set to automatically update and have it properly configured..

You can go to the mcafee website or any top vendor and run a web based scan to see if you are infected. You can also download a program called Spybot Search & Destroy from here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
this will remove spyware if that's what you installed.

You will want to clear your browser cache and check that your homepage has not been changed. If you're using IE (internet explorer)... click on Tools > Internet Options > where it says homepage make sure it says something safe like www.google.com and then below that where it says Browsing History click on Delete > then delete temporary files

run spybot and you should be OK but double check that your antivirus is all ok too.

next time you get a pop up like that... if you aren't sure how to get out of it without clicking on it hit alt+F4 which closes the open window.

good luck :)

The shop probably uses this general method:

1) Install antivirus software if none; update antivirus software
2) Install and/or update Spybot S&D
3) Install and/or update Ad-Aware
4) Reboot into safe mode
5) Remove all restore points
6 ) Run AV software, Spybot and Ad-aware scans
7 ) Reboot
8) Turn restore points back on

If your computer is sending you to a scam site, using alert balloons, pop-ups, a browser toolbar, or a hijack of your browser or your desktop screen, then you need to clean your computer with REAL antispyware software.

If you don't want to argue with various spycatcher programs and other security, then take your computer to a shop and pay a professional to run them for you.
This is one of fhe reasons you should have a security program subscription running - besides e-mails, hitting a place by accident can dump on you.
