Its because of the quota system in SA Cricket that they used to have which was picking a certain number of whites and colored people. Because of that he didn't get a temporary place in the Natal side. They (Shaun Pollock and Clive Rice) tried to get him established in the SA team and Natal team but couldn't because of the head people like Ali Bacher and stuff. So Clive and Shaun, his family and him decided he has no future in SA so told him to go to Notts in England. And then he got chosen for England. And people say Shaun deliberately tried to obstruct him in Sunday's game, it's complete crap because Shaun Pollock is the one in cricket who was like a father figure/best colleague other than Clive Rice.

Basically he couldn't make the same money in South Africa and had the English option due to having an English mother ,
His excuse about leaving South Africa due to their so called quota system doesn't really ring true to me
He is obviously a very talented batsman , though crap fielder , and would have made any international eleven
He does need to get his head sorted out to become a really great player . And he should keep some of his thoughts to himself as they only fire opponents up to a higher level against England.

I assume it was money and the fact that he could not get into the South African side. If he had stayed there he still would not be good enough to play for South Africa. How the hell people say he is the best batsman in the World is a mystery? I have never seen a batsman get away with so many lucky shots in my life,

Why we pick these overseas born players I do not know, you should play for the country your wee born in , full stop. You do not see many other countries using foreign players they develop there own talent. So lets sent the Pieterson's of this world back home where they belong.

Kevin Pietersen is a great player no matter what country he plays for. He left SA to play in England because he was not getting the nod soon enough for provincial and national teams.

££££££££££ vs R !!!!

or the official line

He made his first-class debut for Natal in 1997 before moving to England after voicing his displeasure at the racial quota system in place in South Africa, and in order to further his opportunities for playing at international level. Being born of an English mother gave Pietersen eligibility to play for England, and after serving a qualifying period of four years playing at county level, he was called up almost immediately into the national side.

He moved to England in order to get better opportunities for playing international cricket, as he was not at all happy at the racial quota system prevailing in Soutrh Africa and felt that he will not get a chance to play international cricket if he continues in South Africa.

Well regardless of wether Kevin Pietersen was playing for England or South Africa or any other Asian team doesn't really matter. I think the most important thing is to realize where he feels comfortable to play with, the possible kinds of personal issues or family matters that may be surrounding his decision, or the social kinds of things or other activities he'd might find more easier to deal with.

Regardless of any situation or scenario of where he's playing, it's his own decision of where he wants to play, and where he'd like to push his cricket career in the future - just like us, when we find better jobs and push for the best in our new destinies.
