I had it when I was 19 or so, and I'd always feel sick on the day I had it. I came off it when I split up with my boyfriend, and had a virtually non stop period for 6mths...ugh....I wouldn't recommend depo to anyone, I didn't have periods while I was on it but as soon as I came off it the fun started (!). I felt weak and tired from all the bleeding, no sex drive, and felt depressed. It took at least a year for me to be right again after I had my last jab

Depo has NASTY NASTY side effects for many women. As nurse it is not a drug I would ever recommend anyone to use but that is just a personal opinion mind you. I had a friend online in KY who was ill for years and the docs did every test imaginable and couldn't find anything wrong. Some days she couldn't even get out of bed hardly let alone take care of her toddler son. When I sent her hubby the info about the nasty side effects they took it to the doc and the doc was shocked and said she would never have given her this if she had known. The lady is fine now. Co-workers at work have also had nasty side effects from this drug. It can take over a year to get rid of the side effects once you stop this drug.

I don't ever remmeber having anything like that... I'm going on my third year now.... But everything was pretty normal for me. I stopped getting my period all together... and with that I stopped getting those bad cramps and the emotional roller coaster. What I HAVE experience is major weight gain. I use to weigh 130 and now weigh 180 (over 3 years) and it makes your hair fall out a lot.. like not a lot to where you go bald or anything but a lot of times when I run my hand through my hair a couple strands will come out with it... I'm getting off though... to take a break and maybe lose some weight... and of ourse this is only my experience... everyone else is different. I would consult your doctor about that!

Any new medication takes some getting used to. I've been on Depo Provera for several years, and it's the best thing that ever happened to me. It really cut down on PMS, I haven't had any weight gain or fatigue. You might be having these side effects because your body is getting used to the hormones. The medicine stays in your body for three months, so you have to just wait it out.

I was on the Depo and gained a lot of weight. I had chest pains, my energy level went down, and I felt faint also. The best thing while on it was no period! I had to go off of it due to the fact that it was depleting my body of calcium and caused me to get osteopenia (the beginnings of osteoporosis). I had to start taking extra calcium due to this. Even though I had all these symptoms and had to stop it, it was the best 6 years of my life without the periods.

I had to come off the Depo injection because of the side effects, dizziness, nausea weight gain and eventually, depression. I would come off it if you're not happy,it took 6 months to feel better after I stopped only because I believed my GP when they said things would settle,go with your instinct on this, good luck.

I wouldn't get the next shot if I were you. TOO many women have very serious health risks and side affects because of the shot.

Google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out the reviews at http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx before you think about getting it again.

Yeah I do.
Haven't had any bad side effects as of yet, except feeling a little sick and dizzy for a couple of hours after my first one.
