You said the key word "Hollywood", and the American media and the modeling agencies are obsessed with weight, but not the rest of America, who started this fashion was "Twiggy" and she was from Europe.
She was from the sixties, and since her, our sizes in clothes have been shrinking. In the sixties and early seventies a size 12 was considered thin, now it's considered fat. You have to be a size 2- 6 to be considered thin.
