Actually, i'm not going to be dancing with my father (he passed away when i was young) but i will be dancing with my older brother who was like a father to me growing up. It can be a little upbeat or a slow one. I'm open for all options! Thanks!!

2 of the most cliche wedding dances are "Every Breath You Take" by The Police and "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith. The meanings of both songs are inappropriate to dance to at a wedding, and it's just plain unoriginal.

The person who said "Open Arms" by Journey seems to be on the right track.

When my step-daughter got married, her and I danced to "Open Arms"by Journey. It was really cool and some of the other people commented on how nice it was.

The song "Wonderful Tonight" was written By Clapton when he waited for his then wife Patty Boyd to get ready for a party the two were going to. He kept saying she looked wonderful to get her to get a move on.

Not a great song for a wedding I think.
But a great song.

My step-daughter and my husband dances to "In My Life" by the Beatles. It was wonderful!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Here are the lyrics:

There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new

Though I know I'll never ever lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

Time Will Let You Know, Cheap Trick
The version on the album, Silver, is a duet sung by Robin Zander and his daughter, Holland Zander. It's a beautiful ballad.

broken wings by flyleaf would be excellent, but it might be hard to find since it was never on an album...there for you by flyleaf would be a good one too. if you want broken wings i could email it to you. here are the lyrics to it:

Thank you for being such a friend to me
Oh I pray a friend for life,
And have I ever told you how much you mean to me?
Oh you're everything to me
Thinking all the time how to tell you what I feel,
Contemplating phrases....I'm gazing at eternity,
I am floating in serenity...

And I am so lost for words
And I am so overwhelmed

Please don't leave just yet
Can you stay a moment please
We can dance together
We can dance forever

Under your stars tonight
We'll live and breathe this dream

So close your eyes, but don't dream too deep
And please pass me some memories
And when I fall you're underneath
1000 broken hearts, carried by 1000 broken wings
