I hope this helps! The sanctity of life means viewing life as being something sacred, or holy. Seeing life as something that should be cherished and not taken lightly.

Sanctity is a religious term that means that it is held above ordinary concerns in our existence. Sanctity has no meaning unless we assume that God exists.

If God created all of us, then we are all brothers and sisters and if you are my brother or sister, I am obligated (to God) to hold your life as worth more than mere money or inconvenience.

When Thomas Jefferson said "all men are created equal", he was speaking of the sanctity of life because created implies God.

I think it means knowing the value of human existence. Like in the Middle East, their sanctity of life is less...they stone people, behead them, etc....

We in the Western World value the sanctity of life and allow it to exist in whatever form it takes.

To me it means all lives are important. Death is not be taken lightly. If you can help someone live, then you have a responsibilty to do so.
For example, in the wars and even to-day, there are many who do not give importance to human life.

I means it's sacred...not to be taken for granted, to be enjoyed and respected for what it is and how fleeting it can be.

"That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet."
