i rarely read arabic but i'm reading yacoubian building, saw the movie, the book is a bit different and in my opinion nicer, leaves space to your imagination, tho i won't recommend seeing the movie first then reading the book (this or any), the image of the actors take over the personalities of the book, i keep imagining adel imam and the rest, and keep chasing the images away to get the whole feel of the book :)

I am reading two books currently:
1. The Life of Pi by Yann Martel - very enjoyable so far
2. The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan - read it when it first came out in 1989, and did not like it so much - or at least I did not understand what all the hype was about. I decided to read it again now that I am older and wiser to see if I can appreciate it in a different way!

I am currently reading "The Once and Future King" by T. H. White which is a popular retelling of the Arthur (king) stories and from which Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe based their fantastic and beautiful musical "Camelot" upon. Reading this book while listening to Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, Moss Hart, Roddy McDowall, Robert Coote and Robert Goulet singing the haunting songs of the musical gives me great spiritual satisfacgtion.

Hi,I am reading now a nice book called ''De Ziekte van de Islam' (Dutch for :the sickness of Islam) by Abdelwahab Meddeb(Tunisian), This book is talking about the strange extreme currents which are using Islam to Justify their agenda, (actually chapter II is about wahhbicim) ,, compares the fundamentalism in Islam with the Catholicism doctrine (dogma) ( in the sense that they did not accept any things beside them), the Nazism in Germany, and proves that Islam is innocent from those currents.
(you would find it in 12 languages including French and English )….

Its an awesome series. It just gets u so caught up in it. I guess the reason why i love it is because its so well written and the book just pulls u into it, i cry when its sad, i smile when theres a happy part. But a tom of ppl dont agree with me when i say that Jacob is better than Edward. Bella doesnt deserve Edward. Yup yup, =)

Boomsday by Christopher Buckley (http://www.amazon.com/Boomsday-Christopher-Buckley/dp/0446579815/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-2423204-0319053?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190137364&sr=1-1 ). It's pretty good - I like the dark, sharp sense of humor. However, the soap opera plotline is beginning to drag a bit, and the humor is feeling more forced as I get closer to the end.
I'm also almost finished with Demons are Forever by Julie Kenner (http://www.amazon.com/Demons-Are-Forever-Confessions-Demon-Hunting/dp/0425215385/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-2423204-0319053?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190137444&sr=1-1 ). I've read the whole series. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. I really hate the main character, and I mostly keep reading (thanks to the library) out of a vague hope that I'll get to see her suffer and die. She's an incredibly annoying heroine, and most of her supporting cast is irritating as well. I'm rooting for the demons in the series. I just wish I could quit reading them, but it's like a train wreck.

Well, I just finished reading Digital Fortress by Dan Brown... it's amazing, but so are all his books.
I am now reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, it's not as bad as The Crucible by Arthur Miller... I am reading these for a class.
I am about to start reading Wicked for fun, I am pretty excited about it.

I just finished "The Eagle" by Jack Whyte. It's the last book in the Camulod series and I thought it was really well done.
Currently, I'm rereading Rudolfo Anaya's "Alburquerque" and I remembered why I love this New Mexican author. He's amazing in the way that he writes about the culture of New Mexico. If you haven't read anything by him, I highly recommend this novel.
Hope that helped!!

Belinda by Ann Rice. It's really good. I thought it would be more of an erotica-type book (it's about an affair between a 40 year old man and a 16 year old gilr) but it's kind of a mystery, too. So much more than I expected it to be!
