Yes, it is complete b/s. And you are right all the student was doing was asking a question and he gets arrested and then tasered. The police had no reason for it. I guess this is where our country is headed if we elect the democrats to congress next year. Social-communism.

Partly yes, because the Patriot Act has a section that says that what the police did were legal (which he obviously had a say in). But in 99% of cases (not an actual stastic, just my observation) blame doesn't go down to one person, or one group. The sargeant who gave the order made a terrible decision. The cops were pussys (there were about 6 of them and they can't bring this one 21 year old guy down so they have to taser him)? Give me a break. All the kids (not as much the others but still, just stood there while a guy was being abused by police officers, with exception of that one girl). Anybody whose against the kid, listen to this. What he did was not a prank, that was a legitimate question, he had the book with him and everything and was asking very meaningful questions. Not even John Kerry thought that he was being rude or abnoxious (as you can see from the video tape). Even if he was being rude or abnoxious, how does that warrant an arrest. Face it, Andrew Meyer did absolutly nothing to deserve that. That's pretty much what it comes down to in my opinion.

I think the student was a moron for his behavior but tasering him was completely unnecessary. Four cops could not escort him out? Also, allowing police officers to carry these things in my opinion is very dangerous. There are way too many bad cops out there. Tasering has caused the death of dozens so far.
BTW- John Kerry should be the one getting tasered.

sorry but no, i think it was justified. lets review the facts.....
---he asked numerous questions, and the hosts felt that he was being out of line. then shut off his mic.
---he got beligerant and started yelling making a scene.
---he was told to calm down. he refused.
so in plain azz english he was distrubing the peace, and failed to comply with the lawful order of an officer.
sounds like 2 charges to me.
and for the record, i live 15 miles from uf and my live in g/f is an instructor there and almost went to the town hall meeting.
simple math equation....
act like tard + break the law = trip to jail and possible taser.
i would have not been so nice.....
EDIT...check this local news article for a different light on the guy "just speaking his mind"...sounds as if he had an agenda and wanted to make some stupid video for his self-promotion...

I don't know if I'd call it BS, but I DO think the police took it too far. I was pretty much horrified as I watched the news this morning. Yes, the student was being disruptive, but he wasn't endangering anyone. Therefore, I'm glad the event is going to be investigated.
Edit: Yahoo recently just posted this story:

I think it's great. I hope they gave him a screen test or two on the way to jail too.
He wasn't "just asking a question". He was disrupting a political forum with rude and belligerent behavior.
Edit: I actually did watch the tape and think it's hilarious. It reminds me of the peasants being repressed scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, the little twerp needs to learn some manners?

He wasn't just asking a question, he was out of line and most of what he was saying didn't even sound intelligent. Too me, it looked like he just wanted some attention and he definitely got that!
That said; i don't think he deserved to be tasered, maybe just escorted outside.

Someone call the Whambulance!?!?!?!?
I laughed my butt off while watching his get tackled and tassered.
I heard and saw the entire thing.
He was being disruptive and was asked to leave.
He was asked several times, mic was shut off and was still being rude, ignorant, and further most retarded... Durr durr durr.
So TASSER his azz!!
I would have done the same thing if I were the cop. I would have fookin' squirted the pepper spray too! LOL!!
To make it worse he utters more stupidity out of his mouth:
"People know where I am"
"Dude don't Tasser me, Oww owww owww (waa waa waa)"
"Don't kill me"
All classic lines of a smartass litltle prankster. I know this because I would have said the same thing.
On top of it all, this kid is known for pulling pranks. He just wanted attention.

Yes it was. You have a right to ask a question. To the cop who fired the taser: you should be asamed of yourself. You should be fired and arrested for aggravated assault. You are scum. You want fries with that? When I first watched the video of the guy getting arrested, I nearly threw the remote at the T.V.

What Democrats are creating by staying silent is Anarchy.
When they can not shut up their own then you have trouble.
On the other hand this dude forgot that he was at a democrat rally forum :) other it would have been an Morons.org triumph.
Peace.
