I've been having issues with it not starting and we think it is the fuel pump, but not sure where to find it or how to get to it.

You can chase that problem for a while. Lift the carpet on the drivers footwell. You will see some wires running allmost directly under where your right foot rests. Those are the wires to your fuel pump, and chances are they are worn or broken, very common on this model, took me a month to find it. Good luck

Inside the gas tank.

The fuse and relay for the fuel pump is on the firewall behind a plastic cover.
Check those first.

The fuel filter us along the frame under the drivers side.

Check your fuel pressure, there is a port behind the throttle body for this. Pressure should be 55-61 p.s.i. Sounds like a lack of fuel. I have the service manual for this truck, if you have any questions e-mail me.
