Yeah, I was about five. They had to do it because my sister was seven and coming home with rumours about belly buttons and stuff, and they knew if they just told her she would tell me anyway.
I've tried to have this discussion with my daughter, but she just blushes and says she 'knows'.

When I was 10 and off sick with flu. That was when my mum decided to put "Living and Growing" on the TV. Seeing that emerging head was just the push my stomach needed. lol

We got s*x education at primary school. I don't have kids, so I'm spared that job.

No they didn't. All they did was give us a book. I will have it with my kids because it is important to discuss these things as embarrassing as it may be. It also tells your kids that you can talk to them about anything and that is crucial to the development of the relationship.

I've never had one big chat about it with them but we have discussed periods, and puberty etc on numerous occaisions....if they are curious about anything then they ask me and i try to explain to the best of my ability no matter what the subject. I think its important to be honest with children and its better them hearing the truth from me than hearing horror stories or myths in the schoolyard.

When I was 12, I was going to France with the school and my Mam told not to get pregnant - "I've heard what French boys are like."

I was tall and quite well developed for my age.
