Was up? Noon EST news is coming in now. Barry Manilow was a scheduled guest and a no show. More info to follow. Any thoughts? DO you think she is just pregnant crazy or hoping for controversy to pick up the slack after Rosie?
Has BW lost her mind? They just got some decent bookings back. Why start encourage this again and why now? When is sweeps anyway? Perhaps Rosie is right. Time to retire and put the View to bed.

He refused to answer on camera any questions live for our news anchor. The AP says he asked for an alternative host to interview him, they refused and he walked. How lame is that? I mean Sheri or the Woop could of Pinch hit. Guess the producers still do not value the guests. Expect them to boycott again. Not smart BW. Who cares her politics he is the star and you accommodate his years of experience not some twerp from Survivor.

The producers cut Barry Manilow from the show when he refused to be interviewed if Elisabeth Hasselbeck was on the panel. He is a baby. He will only allow someone with the same political views he has to interview him? Give me a break. This is all Barry-created drama in order to get some buzz for his 'new' album of old songs. Barry isn't making any new fans these days (seriously...when was the last time you heard a teenager blasting "Weekend in New England" on her iPod?), so he's stirring up controversy to get publicity. Lame, lame, lame. I am not a regular watcher of The View as I work during the day, but I thought the episodes where Elisabeth and Rosie argued were the most entertaining and informative (I watched parts of them on YouTube). Barry shouldn't be afraid to allow a conservative to interview him -- he should embrace it! Get your opinions heard if they're so important to you. If he's not on the show, he just looks like a whiner and no one will hear how he truly feels about issues that matter. Smart move, dumba**.

Barry claims he refuses to appear on the show with Elisabeth because he disagrees with her conservative politics. Mannilow is trying to stir up contoversey to generate attention for his lame new album. Either that or this is his way of showing solidarity with his good buddy Rosie after her uncerimonious exit from the show. Elisabeth has held the same beliefs since she started on The View and her espousing those beliefs didn't stop good old Barry from appearing on The View twice in the past while Elisabeth was present. But now all of the sudden she's too conservative? Please. Barry wants to draw attention to his album or he's carrying a grudge for Rosie, otherwise, how do you explain him appearing with Elisabeth H. in the past without a problem? And those of you using this as a forum to bash Elisabeth, she didn't start this, Barry did. It's not like she said she was going to boycott Barry's appearance, it was the other way around. She is unfortunately catching flack from those who don't agree with her political views, which is a weak way to approach this from those who oppose her. Nobody is addressing this issue: Why has he had no problem appearing with her in the past?!! What has changed so drastically about her? Nothing! This is a stunt by Barry!

By the way, the View is a television talk show, not even a news opinion show. Beyond that, I truly believe that it was the Conservative backlash that garnered the View such high ratings, contributed to Rosie's statements, and has given Rosie her own show.

Her last name has the word "hassel" in it. Rosie is seen as an over opinionated bully, but so is this woman. She's annoying, whiney and over opinionated. I don't like neither Rosie or Elizabeth. Rosie needs to go back to being a Charitible person, and Elizabeth needs to go back to being nothing more than a little prom queen.
Having different views are fine, but if someone feels uncomfortable, then they shouldn't have to be subjected to that, and in his case, it's not like will make or break his career.

Barbara Walters needs to retire cuz shes getting kinda senile these days. She always stumbles on her words and forgets mid sentence and goes, "i was talking to uh.....uhhh...eerrr. ummm..." and its SO ANNOYING! she always gets mad when someone says something 'controversial' too. she has like, zero expression on her face and gets all serious. I like Elisabeth, i think she's pretty. I hate Bush, but I like how she's not into the wimpy *** democrats like HILLARY

She is crazy and immature. Would like to see her off the show -- she adds nothing of substance.
