Time speeds up tenfold!!
It took me an eternity to get to 18 and then ages to 21
Then in no time at all I was thirty
And it seems I went to sleep one night when I was about 34 and all of a sudden I'm 42.
I wouldn't say it's all down hill though It's just you go down the hills faster and there's no brakes.
Plus it costs more to get drunk and hangovers last all week instead of just a few hours.

People treat me differently. When you're in your late teens and early 20's, people tend to think of you as some dumb kid. Especially older people will feel that they have the right to tell you what to do, and call you names if you tell them where to stick their unwanted advice. This lessened as I neared 30. I'm over 40 now, and it's pretty much non existent.

The BIGGEST difference is what it MEANS to you. I know some people who couldn't wait until they in their 40's because their kids were grown, their house was paid for, their health was great and they felt secure with their friends, yet free from future worries.
Other people I've known, DREADED turning 20 because they were going to get "old".
If you care for your health, you challenge your mind, you nurture your friends and family - life can get better and better - no matter what your age. (I used to visit a lady in a nursing home who was 102. She asked me to come close to her so she could ask me a private question one day. She said, "get me out of here - their are a bunch of OLD people in here".
She was sane and serious. She wanted to laugh, play, grow and enjoy life. Although she was more than 50 years older than I was - she was more fun to be around than my mopey kids!!! She was smart, funny, and loved life.
So, age 30, just watch your health, laugh, love and dream!!!
You are just beginning!

I though i knew it all then. Now i realise i knew nothing at all. Not sure which i prefer. Knowing nothing or being wiser. They say ignorance is bliss. Probably.

Hangovers hurt more than they used to, and, I've got enough sense to hold back when I need to, as opposed to coming out swinging when someone pisses me off, right off the bat.
