My husband had this done after the birth of our 4th child.
He hated the way it made him feel. He always felt pressure in his balls, they always ached.
He had it reversed 5 years later and finally the pressure went away.
I don't think your husband should do it, it's just not worth the constant pressure in the balls....

Reginald - WRONG! It's a medical condition called "chronic orchialgia", just because you don't have it doesn't mean the ache doesn't exist for others. Don't give out bad advise!

It is much easy er for a man to have this done than women having heirs tubes tied off. It is not like they are going to remove his balls or anything. They make a joke about it in the TV show Tool Time, Tim is worried they are going into man land and all. Very good show that one is anyway. Have read that after it aired that many men had it done.
I also know that many women are very upset that when they have the tubes tied that hey go into a big depression stage, mostly when they go out and see little kids then they want another one and they can't. Most men on the other hand think what the hell now Ii can any time any place no worries.
After the surgery you can help him provide samples for testing or let him go it alone.

Let me reassure your husband he has nothing to worry about. I had a vasectomy 15 years ago. The ONLY difference after my procedure was my sperm could not reach my seminal fluid and subsequently cause my wife to become pregnant! I had the same fears before my procedure. I sat down with a friend and asked some very VERY blunt questions about what to expect afterward. He was more than happy to put my mind at ease. If your husband would like to email me or IM me and ask ANYTHING....please tell him to do so.
I did not experience any change in my sex drive. I did not experience any change in my ability to get an erection. There was no change in the pleasure I experience during sex. Like I said, the only difference is there is no sperm in my ejaculate. Otherwise, everything looks, feels, smells and tastes..(LOL...sorry couldn't resist) the same!
But, please have him contact me if he wants to discuss this in more detail. No questions are dumb. No questions are too personal. No questions will be offensive.

I had it done some time ago and there is nothing to worry
about. There are some good comments above, except that
mark s, de viking, Llola, and cdjack are full of baloney! It
won't affect your masculinity or sex drive but it will relieve
your fears about any more pregnancy! And it is much easier
for a man to get this done than it is for a woman to have her
tubes tied! My vasectomy took less than a half hour; I went
in scared half to death, of course, but it wasn't that bad and
I walked out half an hour later under my own power with my
fears gone! The most painful part was paying the bill!
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Didn't the doctor explain ANYTHING to him? Does he not know how to do research on line about a vasectomy. I got mine in 1977 and did research AT THE BOOK LIBRARY and was fully informed as to what was going on. The only thing that is done is to cut the road off for those little guys to get out of jail. They die and are absorbed by the body. The ejaculate still flows and the sex is GREAT!
I had it done on a Friday morning. Laid around the rest of the day being pampered, holding a bag crushed ice in a towel between my legs. Saturday I went to a cook out at my in-laws and was the butt of several jokes (my sister-in-law asked if she was going to let her see the scar...he he). Sunday went to church, laid around the rest of the day. Monday went back to work to my mostly desk job. Best $200 I spent.
Our sex life greatly improved with no need for birth control. No wondering if my wife took her pill, do we have any condoms (no need to carry any either). My doc told me we could make love whenever the mood struck us. Early on, one day my wife bent over to pick something up....she has the CUTEST butt....and we made mad love right there on the floor. We've been banned for life from K-mart.
Oh, and that MARK up there? He's a complete idiot and has NO idea what he's talking about! Completely clueless KID.

Vasectomy will not have any affect on sex drive or how sex feels....Once he gets over the initial discomfort (a day or two usually), he will want sex and perform just like always...the ONLY difference is that the semen that comes out when he ejaculates will not contain sperm...It will not look, feel, smell, or taste any different
