Acid rain!

Limestone dissolves relatively quickly in acids. An increase in the acidity of rain (from pollution) means that stuctural limestone will not last as long.

Keep in mind that I said limestone dissolves _relatively_ quickly. It dissolves a lot faster than granite, but it will still last a long time, even with acid rain.
