well this morning I checked online and it posted however they did a deposit correction and instead of reading a deposit of $460.00 it now reads a deposit of $240.00 I called the bank and they said they need to research it. I said I counted it while standing at the ATM just to double check that I was depositing $460.00 and I even included my own deposit slip from my check book in the deposit envelope as well. Who can I write to or how can I get my money back? I had so much trust and loyalty from WaMu that I never ever thought something like this would happen to me. Any ex bank clerks that can point me in some kind of direction??????

If it were me, I'd go to the branch where the ATM is located and talk to the manager. One of the employees there must have counted and processed the ATM envelopes Monday morning. Either that teller is aware of "excess cash" or that teller is stealing cash. Talk to the manager ASAP. Ask if that employees drawer came out correctly at the end of the day.

First mistake, don't deposit cash. Second mistake was choosing Washington Mutual. This happens all the time with them. Ask them to review the tape at the ATM. This way they maybe able to count the amount you placed in the enevelope at the time of deposit. Always remember, Washington Mutual is never wrong. They still owe me over $1000, during a mistake they made 2 years ago.

It could be an ATM error. Sometimes the ATM would enter the wrong amount. Once I typed in 338.00 while depositing and the ATM credited my account 3.38. I got home and called the bank to tell them that the ATM crashed and ate my money and they had the rest credited to my account in like two days or something. So call their corporate line.

First of all only deposit cash with a teller either at the window or drive through. Some banks only deposit a percentage of the money until they have the actuall deposit in their hands to count and verify and then they will credit your account the remainder!

Go to management. That is the one thing I always worried about when I deposited cash in the ATM. However as far as I know the bank has cameras everywhere. Even on the employees. So if your positive about the amount pursue it with your bank. Get the money back and change banks.

Good luck on that.

they will find the error and correct it.

it has happened to me and all came out ok in the end.

if you have received good service from them in the past, why would you bail on them now? Everybody makes mistakes -t I think it's how they handle it that makes the difference

call again to check on it and make sure you get a name a number of the person you speak with and ask when you can call back to get an accurate response.

generally speaking they find the errors right away.

good luck

It might be that the remaining $220 is currently on hold. Check back later in the week to see if it has reappeared.
