I'm a smoker and haven't been in a pub since the ban came in (except for a meal, for which I do agree with the no smoking policy). What makes me laugh the most is that when I drive past a pub, I see a crowd of people smoking in the doorway, and every non-smoker has to walk through a huge mushroom cloud to get in! Surely this defeats the whole object of the ban?

I allow smokers in my house - but I don't allow them to smoke in my house!
And - even when I smoked myself, I didn't let smokers smoke in the house. It's a nasty smell that just doesn't go away...

They can come over, but they have to smoke outside and pick up their butts when they are done. I don't allow my kids to go over to smokers house. They don't need to be around that.

I am a smoker and I DO NOT allow smoking in my house. It has become a hard and fast thing for me. I am working my way to quitting and in my endeavours to do so, my friends either comply or they go home.

As a smoker myself, I'd let them in my house! But when I visit non-smokers, the cigs stay in the car.. I'd never smoke in someone else's house!

I allow them at my house but generally smokers don't tend to visit and if they do they have enough respect to go outside and smoke...

I am an EX-smoker. I would prefer that the smokers go outside, but I do not demand it. Most of them heed to my wishes.

No. I send them outside or to our garage. Sometimes I'll be nice and let them smoke on our patio (sun room) if it is really cold outside and snowing.
I've never had a problem with someone lighting up in the house, they have been polite so far and just went outside.
