The recording is of a 'sassy' mobile we got for our baby. Can anyone tell me what the official name of this piece of music is, and whether it is by Brahms or not?

Not Brahms, but Bach

That is the "Air on the G String" (no jokes please).
From the Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068

I don't know if it is Brahms or not, but he always went heavy on the harpsichord and this doesn't sound like it. Does it really matter who the composer is, as long as it soothes the baby?
