He was saying and is saying that if the Republican Party does not rethink how the business of government is being operated and offer real change, they will lose the next election. It is called being realistic and it is a wake up call for all the Republican candidiates.

There is a study one columnist mentioned that says that whoever is in the lead for the Democratic Nomination in the September before the election year always loses the nomination.

Of course, past performance doesn't guaranty future results, so Newt could be right this time unless those who would like to vote Green see Hillary as so similar to the GOP nominee that they figure they might as well vote their first choice and hope the Democrats run someone better in 2012. If that would finally get The Democrats behind the idea of runoff elections, there might finally be some progress made in improving the democratic process.

80 percent is an exaggeration. He's trying to scare conservatives.
I'm sure she'll win though.Obama might be a breath of fresh air but in the slim chance he would win the white house, he would be new to the highest levels of government and would probably spent the first weeks getting to know the ins and outs like all the others running.Don't get me wrong I love the guy and hope he does become President one day but he's too inexperienced at this moment in the political game and in policy making. He would be eaten alive by the GOP war machine in the campaign and I don't think he's ready to deal with the problems and opportunities of today.
The war in Iraq will in all likelihood still be going on and possibly an armed conflict with Iran.Osama and his gang is also still on the run.I want Hillary.I think she's the only one who will be ready from day one

Unfortunately, I think he's right. I'm not a big Clinton fan, and I think she has as many skeletons in her closet as Bush did.

I'm TIRED of the corruption. Obama is a breath of fresh air and I am really hoping he'll get the nomination.

It's not just Newt that thinks this way. I may be a democrat but I come from a long line of staunch republicans - and they all say the same thing.

He's openly admitted that he's rallying and I happen to agree with the psychology that he's using. The conservatives need a wake up call and hopefully they'll pay attention.

I think thats' a bit exageratted, but she's certainly the favorite. Of course it also depends on who she runs against. If it's Giulliani, they are polling dead even. Other republican nominees would be significant underdogs going in.

Trying to rally the Republicans....she doesn't even have half of the Democratic support..Too many remember her lapses in memory and judgement to make her an electable candidate. Far too many ignore her past (giving her that slim chance).

Best possible odds she can have are 50%. There are far too many anti-Hillary voters out there to be higher than that.........
