That's a very good question...I only wish I knew the answer! I guess maybe deep down I do...just not ready to face it yet! You know that song "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac... "I've been afraid of changing cause I've built my life around you"?!! That's how I feel right now...but time does make you bolder and my children are getting older...well you know the rest! All I can say is I feel a change coming...and it's a big one!!!

I think each case is unique. There have been relationships that I left early on because it was obvious that it was going nowhere and I wasn't happy. For a lot of women (at least those I have encountered) that decide to stay it is because they see it as an investment. They have invested so much time and energy into trying to make it work that they are just waiting for things to turn around. Eventually, they get tired of trying when their efforts are not reciprocated and they finally leave. Each person and each relationship is very different. That is why it is easy to leave sometimes and other times it is not.

For the simple fear of being alone. There are a lot of people who feel this way! They feel it's better to be unhappy with someone then be "unhappy" alone.

The real reason is comfort. You find you situation comfortable and you know that if you end things they will become awkward.Your feelings of unhappiness can't compare to the amount of comfort you feel.

There are too many reasons to list them all. Here are some of the more pressing ones: "there are children involved"; " I have no family for support should I leave him'; "I would rather put up with him/her than live alone"; " i have no assets to fall back on". etc .etc.

I think people just don't wanna give up, and they wanna stay and work on things and hope that one day things do get better.

I wouldn't. I just wish I could find a nice lady to settle down with.

The kids. They are really the glue here. That's about it really.
We separated for about 6 months but it was too hard on our daughter to not have us both here, so I took him back... *sigh*

Great question because there's a little one involved and I'm trying to spare his feelings.
