The US has the highest percentage of Christian citizens in the world. We also are also the worlds most armed nation with there being about 9 guns for every ten people in the country. Are we just a nation of blatant hypocrites, or do we as a nation believe that when Christ returns, he'll be a Magnum carrying member of the NRA?

Way to go, insult the majority of citizens in the country. What a hateful, moronic, uninformed question.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, that response was harsh. I think it was a silly, offensive question though.

% of Christians? Are we? I agree, a very large % here are hypocrites about one thing or another, same as most other countries. % of Americans who love the Lord, or like Him, or obey or even believe in Him...God knows.

Stats about most armed are deceptive. The Swiss are mandated to have guns though technically they're government guns for awhile. While we have many firearms, only about 25% of homes in the US have guns, many have multiple. So what. Guns are tools like computers or knives or cars. That doesn't make them evil, firearms prevent about 75 crimes for each person killed by one. Why does the ownership of a gun equate with hypocrisy?

Really though, gun carrying NRA. He hardly needs a gun. Surely, he ate meat but I doubt he would need to hunt. In self-defense, He would give up as He did, or there would be no stopping Him. That seemed to insult both Christ & the NRA.

Oh boo hoo. In America we have the right to bear arms and freedom of religion. That includes freedom from religion and freedom to say you're this or that religion but not really live the lifestyle. I'm not a religious person, but I do own guns. That 9 guns for every ten people, stop and think. Do most gun owners have only one gun? Hahah, not a chance. I have, well let's just say I have enough. That stat may or may not be true, but to infer that 90% of Americans are armed is ridiculous. So I don't think your slanted comment really applies to me, but I still find it offensive. We have freedom of religion in this country. That means you can have a relgion or not have a religion, and I can't make you have or not have one. You have the right to bear arms, you don't have to exercise that right, but that does NOT give you the privelige to take away that right from me.

If I had a kick-@$$ JC action figure, it'd have a Super Soaker filled with Holy Water (by traditional definition, any water He touched/touches is considered to be Holy Water) for fighting aggressive Evil.

US has the highest percentage of people who'll *say* or *check-mark* that they're "Christian". Lip-service and checking are more convenient than sincere thought and constant effort.

I can't quite imagine a Buddha action figure with a gun.

Jesus woudnt carry any gun. I dont think that 9 out of 10 people have guns in the country. If it is so then you mean to tell me that babies and infants have guns too? What do you mean by hypocrites? There are rules to be followed in owning a gun. Rules such as having gun licenses are strictly imposed to US citizens.

It does not might desire to do with weapons, it has to do with the social inequality right here interior america of a. interior the Czech Republic the homicide cost is approximately on par with the united kingdom and Switzerland and is even safer than the united kingdom..the homicide cost interior the united kingdom replaced right into a million.28 consistent with a hundred,000 inhabitants and interior the Czech Republic the homicide cost replaced right into a million.33 consistent with a hundred,000 inhabitants. In Switzerland this is even under the two, with a cost of a million.01 consistent with a hundred,000? inhabitants.it quite is utilising the main contemporary information. In the two the Czech Republic and Switzerland this is quite common to possess a firearm legally yet they don't have problems with gun violence like we do. those countries have popular well-being care, and a bigger social protection internet. they have courses to wrestle the inequalities linked with capitalism. If we take care of the basis reasons of crime, decrease or get rid of poverty, have psychological well-being care as part of a countrywide healthcare plan. I assure the violent crime cost and homicide cost might drop critically... all without extra gun administration. much less crime additionally skill much less human beings possessing weapons, on condition that many human beings own weapons for self or abode protection.

I think He'd buy American, and carry a Colt Model 1911-A1. Nothing like the heft of a .45 ACP, and everybody knows there's trouble if you use it. Still, Jesus could heal the aflicted after He punched a half-inch hole through somebody not living right. And it would have Ivory grips, too!!

I would like to address this question but from two separate standpoints.

First of all Christianity is a 'catch-all' category (a basic fundamentalist or dogmatic belief system) designed to impart feelings of peace, safety and well-being. All types, races and cultures can be termed "Christian" which is, of itself, a very general label. But everyone has their own reason for being "Christian". A very 'touchy' subject.

About possessing weapons - a separate issue that is based in part, in pursuing peace, safety and well-being but from a totally different standpoint.

Regarding either issue each person has their own reasons for pursuing religion/spirituality as a whole not just as Christians.
They also have their own reasons for possessing weapons for many different reasons (protection, power, criminal intent) or just initiating their Right to Bear Arms.

I feel that NEEDING to possess a weapon is due to a LACK of FAITH, TRUST and totally devoid of (personal/societal) PEACE.

And, BTW, Jesus had only ONE weapon - Unconditional Love. The strongest 'weapon' of all in my opinion.

If you recall, Jesus let the sanhedrin come after him as he refused to carry. When He returns he won't be here long since time would tick differently than it does for us now.

Well, cookie-boy, if you do not like it, you can always ask your mother to move you, your chin-pokemon, and your soy juice box to Venezuela or Iran.
