"I wanted to let you know that I will no longer be on The View tomorrow as scheduled. I had made a request that I be interviewed by Joy, Barbara or Whoopi, but not Elisabeth Hasselback [sic]. Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request so I bowed out. It's really too bad because I've always been a big supporter of the show, but I cannot compromise my beliefs. The good news is that I will be on a whole slew of other shows promoting the new album so I hope you can catch me on those."

I think his behavior is absurd. I am boycotting Manilow music.

OMG, Barry is afraid of a girl....that is too funny.

Where in the world did Barry Manilow get the idea that he was in such demand that he could pick and choose between the few shows that will have him on.

What a freaking wimp....with a self inflated ego to boot.

"Lets all pick on the Conservatives"....I am really astonished there is still room on that soapbox!!

I will make sure to boycott this album.

Wait a minute, I just realized I have never and would never own a Barry Manilow album, you see I'm not gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

By the by Delphi (ohh I rhymed) Elisabeth Hasselback is way hot, you're just a jealous envious little troll, calling her creepy, she is no such thing.

Oh we want everyone to think the same way, I believe Elisabeth Hasselback has the right to believe what ever the hell she wants to believe but because she disagrees with your views some how that makes her creepy. Yep we're closed-minded, right.

Whatever happened to free speech? What a coward. Elizabeth Hasselbeck is hardly a world class Conservative debator or a right wing zealot. All she has ever done was try to defend her position against an onslaught from the left. You have her on the right and all of the other hosts and most of the audience on the left.

Gee, Barry, are the odds still too much in her favor? Besides, why not just request that they not discuss politics while you are there? Do you think only liberals attend your shows or purchase your music? I would not be surprised if Hasselbeck is the only one on that show who likes your music.

Pathetic. Such cowardice and xenophobia is more suitable to a 2 year old than to a grown man.

Yes he is afraid of getting asked a tough question, like most liberal celebrities. They just want to spew talking points and have a brain-dead liberal smile and nod back at them. It's pathetic.

Manilow is dead to me!!!

Funny how CERTAIN people loved Rosie, despite (or perhaps because of ) her calling our troops terrorists, but Elisabeth Hassleback is creepy, or blame her. TOO Funny.

It just show how weak his position is if it can't stand up to opposing questions. I think he really hurt his reputation, such as it is, by bowing out.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a freaking loon, maybe that's why he doesn't want to be interviewed by her.

She's absolutely crazy, and the only reason conservatives like her is because she likes Bush and supports the war. She is famous for eating bugs, for God's sake.

If she showed the same passion toward the opposite point of view, conservatives would call her crazy.
