Easily you can either just go through life and breathe or you can make the most of your life and experience it to its fullest by having your breathe taken away at all of the wonders it offers.

The question is attempting to get you to look at the qualitative perspective of life. Not to quantify things that are unimportant, such as age. But value your life or measure it, in terms of it's quality. It also attempts to inform the reader, indirectly, that attempting to quantify the 'number of breaths' with 'the number of moments that have taken your breath away' is an error. It does this by making the reader think about how to compare the two variables, but because they are incompariable, which is the potency of the aforementioned question, the reader is left to realise that life cannot in fact, be measured by the number of breaths, in terms of how one would measure the number of moments life has taken your breath away.

that means,
life is not measured by the number of breaths you are having during that one day but by what you are doing with your day. ex. giving forward
saving somebody`s life or anything that is done in goodness or spontaneously, from an accident, or the neighbor. it`s about anything that can simply make you feel good.
a good deed to others

Well I think that means...
That life doesnt depend on how many breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away are most important.

i just answered a question awhile ago, which i think goes with this one. i cherish the really terrible memories as well as the wonderful ones, because who i am was determined by both bad times and good. moments that take your breath away , good ones and bad ones, are the bricks out of which one's personality is built. they are the moments during which you feel most alive.

"The number of breaths you take..." = how long you live.
"...moments that take your breath away." = how alive and involved you are - in life.

simple death.the moment that take your breath away, you would be dead.
i humbly suggest that this could be in this way:
LIFE IS NOT MEASURED BY TH NUMBERS OF BREATHS YOU TAKE BUT BY THE MOMENT YOU MAKE OTHERS TO HOLD THEIR BREATH IN ADMIRING YOU.

Quality if more important than quantity. Oscar Wilde said, "A critic is some one who knows the price of everything, but the value of nothing". Knowing what is important in life is the key to substance.
