Not true. You can't copyright a common name.

I seriously doubt you'd be able to copyright a common name like "Bill Gates" - what would all the other people named "Bill Gates" do? Change their names?

sounds like bologni....granted if he has companies with his name in the title in a sense yeah...but im glad to say that bill gates doesnt have a monopoly on the name....it is simple enough to occur twice and im sure no ones gonna get sued for something they were born with.

i get the feeling your friend says alot of things like that...i have a friend like that and this has him written all over it

Of course not - there are other people alive in the world called Bill Gates.

And if anyone pinched his name to use for nefarious purposes, he'd be able to sue.
