Good question. Or, how about the people that keep pressing the button while getting closer and closer to the TV, then go back and sit down and get aggravated. Why not just turn it on while up there? I know people that do this. Not me, actually. I'm not that bad yet. I'll eventually go change the batteries.

I do that too. Maybe we think if we press harder it will work for us anyway. Or maybe we are just trying to squeeze every little drop of energy out of those batteries before we change them.lol

I think its a mental thing. Maybe it will start working the harder you push the buttons and the harder you bang it against your hand or whatever else!
We all do it, too.

i am very guilty of this and you must swear while doing it or it does'nt work. god forbid i would have to get up, walk over to the tv and actually press the buttons on it! lol

Because I am attempting to influence the remote with my will. When this doesn't work I tend to bang it against something and try again and growl. Then when that doesn't work I test the remote's aerodynamic characteristics ( I throw it).

I press the button and do the cast motion at the tv, sorta like I can sling the signal to it....doesn't work!

Its probably caused by the same part of your brain that tells you cutting your old bank card in half is not enough, you have to keep going till its in about 300 pieces!
